Apparatus specially designed to provide the treatment of all types of pneumothorax, from the spontaneous, to the traumatic and iatrogenic, including hypertensive, with any extension.

Features and Benefits:

 

• The  red signal  diaphragm  deflects  upwards  when  the catheter  tip  enters  the

       pleural  space. It then  continues to  fluctuate with respiration as the  intrapleural

       pressure varies from > +2mm Hg to <-2mm Hg. When the signal diaphragm stays                                                                          in the down position and the patient is asymptomatic the pneumothorax may  be  

       resolved;

• The self- contained vent  allows patients complete  ambulation during resolution; 

 

• Radiopaque  catheter,  developed with  Ureflex material, highly soft, flexible,  and

       kink resistant with multiple drainage openings in its distal portion;

 

• Compartment with a storage capacity of up to 5 mL of fluid;

 

• Trocar: allows easy percutaneous insertion of the catheter into the pleural cavity. It has a groove along its entire length that provides the start of drainage of the pneumothorax from its insertion;

 

• Hydrophobic filter: responsible for bacterial filtration;

 

• Unidirectional valve: prevents the air and / or liquid reflux from the device to the patient;

 

• The syringe-activated drain port allows aspiration of small amounts of fluid (up to 5 ml);

 

• Aspirating cannula: one-way valve that allows manual aspiration of the pneumothorax;

 

• Suction extension: provided for the performance of a vacuum suction;

 

• Occlusion cap: provided to occlude the device for the performance of X-rays to determine the resolution of the pneumothorax.
